History of Magiearth - Ch. 2 - Earth and Magiearth Eras
The history of Magiearth doesn't start on Magiearth, but instead on our planet, Earth. The second era is the Earth Era, and that is the one we're going to start with.
Earth is the home planet of the magical races, races that could harness magic. Magic is a form of energy that does very little on its own, but can easily transform into other forms of energy. Magic has to be trapped inside something, otherwise it will disperse into the universe. Magic can be easily trapped in gems, special magic storages, and magical races. Because magical races could use magic, the Humans were scared of them and fought them using their technology and guns.
Because of the wars, many magical races went extinct, the most famous of these are the Dwarves. Due to these extinctions, leaders of the different races got together and devised a plan; their plan was to find a way off Earth. This event was called The Meeting and occurred sometime during the late 1500s. While The Meeting occurred, the magical races came up with a name for long periods of war, a Great War, and this was the first one.
Many years later, the magical races finally found a way off Earth; with the help of a man named Jacob Jackson, the magical races created the Capsule, fueled by magic, which could travel through space at near light speeds.
The man, Jacob Jackson, was an English man who traveled to the Americas in the early 1600s. He fought for the rights of the magical races and later helped create the capsule that got them off Earth.
The Capsule was finished in 1668. The king of the Spies, Giri Lanta, rounded up most of the magical races and got them in the Capsule, along with a few animals; this includes dragons and wyverns. After getting as much people in the Capsule as possible (including Jacob Jackson), the magical races left Earth in search of a new home. This started the Magiearth Era.
Ninety-eight years after leaving Earth, the magical races landed on a new planet they named, Magiearth. After landing the magical races adopted a new calendar, the Magiearth Calendar. It shows the era, followed by how many years have passed since the start of that era (for example: 3E 68. The "E" stands for era. The Beginning Era looks like this: 0E 68). Also, many magical races name each other differently than how we name each other. For some races, their first name acts as our last name, their middle like our first, and their last like our middle.
When they landed, the magical races started claiming areas of land as their own. The Spies built a city around the Capsule's landing site, in the Lakelandian Grassland. This became the city of Spy Town, one of the first cities on Magiearth.
In the year 2E 110, the king of the Light Elves, Structurio Maltonio, predicted war would come over the new land. Because of this, he gathered up all Light Elves, Black Elves, Forest Elves, and Fairies and told them of his prophecies. The Angels wanted nothing to do with him. The Elves believed his sayings. Structurio told them that they should leave Lakelandia, Drydesia, and Tropicosia to set sail on the Flood Ocean and discover new land. A few weeks later, the Elves set sail on the Flood Ocean; after heading west, they discovered the island of Torlos and all the Elves, except for the Light Elves, stayed there. The Light Elves kept heading west, where they discovered Togayoung. They built a few cities on the continent before they left due to its harshness. After a few years of stumbling around in the dark, the Light Elves discovered Structuro and settled it. Later, Light Elven explorers discovered the small island of Structzeno, right off the coast of Structuro.
In the year 2E 123, the Badde Empire was created, and a year later the Imperial Spy Empire was created. The Badde Empire consisted of the kingdoms of Drydesia, Ikoala, Vaporan, Death Swamp, and Faerii; the empire was led by Tiilaer, the king of Faerii. The Spy Empire consisted of the kingdoms of Lakelandia, Kis' Kingdom, and Tropicosia. Magic Isle remained unclaimed.
At first, the empires were peaceful towards each other, but then things started to get tense; the Spies were worrying about the Badde Empire's huge amounts of land and evil leaders.
Meanwhile, in Structuro, the prophet, Structurio Maltonio II, led one-hundred settlers to Structzeno, seeking religious independence. On their way there, they were ambushed by the Structurian Navy on the Cold Sea. This battle was called the Battle of the Cold Sea and took place in the year 2E 125. The settlers and Structurians fought furiously. The Battle was ended when Structurio Maltonio II killed his father, Structurio Maltonio, believing he was evil. Due to the loss of their king, Structuro granted Structzeno its independence.
Soon after the battle, the one-hundred settlers arrived on Structzeno. They built the city of Inkrend where they landed. Soon, Inkrend Island became the first hold of Structzeno, simply named Inkrend.
During the late Magiearth Era, the Badde Empire wasn't taking care of their kingdoms. Drydesia is hot and dry, because of this no crops could be grown on Drydesia and the Sandsmen relied on the Badde Empire for food. The Badde Empire did not supply Drydesia with the food and water it needed and due to this, many Sandsmen were starving. In the year 2E 141, the prince of Drydesia, Plite Snad, decided to gather a small army and raid the largest farm village in the kingdom of Lakelandia, Farm Town, of its wheat, corn, and water.
Plite's army was spotted passing Spy Town, so Giri Lanta ordered General William-Spy Gunther and his army to go and protect Farm Town. Willam-Spy and his men went straight to Farm Town and found that Plite's army had just arrived and started raiding. William-Spy's men attacked Plite's men in a battle named the Battle of Farm Town. This was the start of the Second Great War. Only Plite and a few of his men survived the defense from William-Spy.
William-Spy and his men returned to Spy Town to tell of their victory. Because Giri Lanta had no living relatives and he was too old to rule, Giri Lanta pronounced William-Spy Gunther king, starting the Lakelandian Era.
