Overview:
They are often called a snow devil. As the carts roll past the large snowdrifts, piles upon piles of snowgive small relief from the howling north winds and biting cold. As one of those drifts shudder, the snow explodes as a twenty foot four legged beast with a beak top maw and teeth like steel daggers erupts out. The white snow colored fur of a once-dead yeti corpse turned and morphed into a huge killing machine named a Besomar.

Combat:
Besomar dig deep into the snow near crossings, and wait for prey to enter their territory. The spring out of the snow, blinding the prey with snow and getting in a surprise first round of combat. Once one equal footing, the Besomar attacks with its two claw attacks, going for mounts and steeds, removing the best chance their prey has to escape. If it is fighting more than one opponent, it will go for the strongest first, then the clerics. Holy divine casters are especially favored as prey for Besomar.
When a besomar fights a single target, or has one prey left, it will wound the prey and allow it a time to escape. Besomar will hunt the prey for days, tracking the blood scent through the snowy tundra. Eventually, just before freezing to death, the Besomar will attack, removing frozen limbs first, then finishing the kill as it freezes. Breath Weapon
Once per day, the Howl of a Besomar is accompanied by a 60' white cone of freezing ice. Whatever it hits that fails a saving throw vs rods, freezes in place and is stunned for d3 rounds. The damage from the freezing cone is 4d4+4. Any limb caught in the cone failing a save is frostibtten, turns black and is useless within 3 days.

Habitat/ Society:
There is no society or habitat for the Besomar. They do meet once in a great while to reproduce, either giving birth to another Besomar or to an ice devil. If both are born, the icedevil will murder his sibling and then strike out without its parents. Fortunately Besomar only give birth every 70 years of so, because gestation to birth is only a single week.

Ecology:
When a Yeti dies of freezing or starving to death, it's final breath it howls into the cold. When this howl echoes through the snow drifts sometimes something evil hears it and responds. A demon most foul from the frozen layer of Stygia claws its way up into the corpse, morphing it and changing it.
