Scarsburg
SCARSBURG
The Town of Docks
Overview:
Scarsburg is known as the Town of Docks. The town sits in a perfect location that holds many points of both economic and militaristic position. Scarsburg is a town of roughly 1200 people, with a standing army of 700 soldiers and 200 cavalry. The town is a major military holding position due to the closest port city to another country. Scarsburg has a historic past, as the last of the undead menace was quelled on the streets of the town, ending the Undead Scourge, decades ago. The town's name came from a large rocky 'scar" that runs through the upper hills of the town, causing steppes within the town.
The town of Scarsburg exports fish, ships built, and also wool. It has a large textile industry and making of sails as well as woolen clothing. Goods from Jade Isles, Iron Kingdoms, as well as Hepulchor make their way to the Scarsburg Market. Rare weapons, exotic spices, colorful silks and armors can be found in the market of Scarsburg. The Town of Docks offers many different shops and bazaars to shoppers, offering goods and services that cannot be found elsewhere in Gothmyr, inland.
Scarsburg is also home to a few thieves guild as well as a port stop for an assassin's guild, the Black Daggers. Crime and corruption abound in Scarsburg, as much coin is spent and exchanges hands within the Town of Docks. Few claim the guildmasters of the council are under the thumb of these thieves guilds, but the constant war in back alleys and arrests of killers and thieves shows someone is still upholding law and order in town.
Location:
Scarsburg is located on the southern shore of Gothmyr's border, sitting on the Emerald Sea. Scarsburg is usually the first town those who enter Gothmyr via the South Gate often come to. Scarsburg is west of Avendorf, its closest neighbor and east of the westernmost Iron Tower.
