The Crystal Cavern

"Kobázulo Diamant"

(Father's Glimmering Chamber)

Overview: Each year for 15 days prior to the summer solstice and the 15 days following, the sun shines deep into a series of cracks and crevasses around the Mendi Tontorra mountaintop, illuminating a sacred cavern beneath The Temple of the Dawn God from sunrise to sunset. It is filled with gems and crystals numbering in the hundreds of thousands. These natural prisms gather the sun's rays and focus them into a single column of crystal, which casts an ethereal bluish-green beam of light upward through the Temple's central chamber, shining high into the sky above the mountain as a beacon to the faithful.

Rumors: "Day of Odol Opari" (the Blood Gift): Once every 100 years, a bright red moon rises high above the peak in the dead of night on the summer solstice and fills the Crystal Cavern with deep crimson beams of moonlight. It is said the red light that shines out of the bejeweled chamber and up through the temple looks like a glowing river of blood flowing into the night sky. Some say they've heard a forlorn voice echoing down the mountain on these rare nights. Rumors abound that some items which were left inside the Cavern on that day had been imbued with magical powers bestowed by Amaro himself!
