The Fox
Huilon Li (a.k.a. The Fox)
The Fox lives somewhere between urban legend and infamy. Very few have managed to lay eyes on this legendary thief, though many have felt their presence.
No one knows when this figure began their life of crime. There was no sudden influx of burglaries, no daring, ballad worthy exploit that threw them into stardom. And even had there been, it is likely the Fox began thieving long before anyone took notice. There was only a jewel gone missing here, and an heirloom there, an artifact vanished from under lock and key, a safe suddenly emptied. There is little to tie these crimes together save that every single one of them is pulled off flawlessly.
The Fox does not make mistakes. Alarms are never tripped - either mundane or magical - and there are never signs of a break in. It is as though the stolen items merely vanished into thin air.
So, you may ask, how did these crimes come to be blamed on the same person? And how did the Fox get their name? Because of those very few people who have managed to catch a glimpse of this thief.
Those who have managed a verifiable sighting - for the world is full of liars - all report the same: A lithe figure dressed all in black save for a shock of copper red hair and the matching tail of a fox hung at their waist.
There is some argument about whether or not the Fox is indeed one person. Their long history of thefts is an argument made to the contrary, although it is well within the lifespan of an elf.
