Iron

Iron is a hard, strong and durable metal that has a silver-gray appearance when polished. It readily rusts when exposed to moisture and air. Iron is abundant and mined throughout much of the known world. Smelting iron is relatively difficult compared to other ores because of the extremely high temperatures required. Prior to the Imperial Age, large-scale iron smelting was primarily the domain of the Dwarves.
