Qualifications

Once every year, a child with a shadow filled with stardust is born. This starlit child possesses the ability to harness the ever-present magical energies that permeate the world, and cause them to manifest to the senses of the prosaic. No matter their heritage or background, all mages are welcome within the Thaumacracy. All a mage need do to claim the place set aside for them is pledge their service to the Thaumacracy, and vow to fulfill any task assigned to them by the Council of Mages. It is a simple deal, but one that some mages are hesitant to accept.

Payment & Reimbursement

Within the Thaumacracy's settlements, mages are granted lives of leisure and ease. Their every need is attended to, they need only say the word. They can be as doted upon or as self-reliant as they wish, and they can live in whatever conditions they desire. As other nations treat their kings, so too are mages within the Thaumacracy.

Other Benefits

Mages are the most renowned people in all of Eiavere. Whether loved or hated, their reputation precedes them, and their power are unmistakable. It is impossible for one to pretend to be a mage, and it is impossible for a mage to hide their status. Wherever they go, they are sure to find enemies, but even more certain to find those who would risk life and limb in the name of their protection.

As there is only one born every year, mages are an extremely rare commodity and a valuable asset for any nation. As such, the Thaumacracy has made it its goal to recruit, train, and provide safe harbor to any and all mages, lest they be hunted down and manipulated by those who would use them for their own selfish ambitions.
