Higharvestide is a popular festival of Terenwe as it signals the beginning of the port city's busy season. Shipping, adventuring, and mercenary contracts flood the city.
Terenwe is the largest the city of the island Effinge'ver and The Malana Chain itself. Terenwe sees a lot of visitors every year being a prime stop over point between the main bodies of the continent.
The Warden of Terenwe, Sevastian Cortez is an ex sailor and mercenary. He is famous for defending Terenwe in a siege from a armada of pirates 25 years ago, after which he was appointed Warden. Since he took this posting, Terenwe as a whole has grown substantially economically. It is on it's way to begin rivalling the smallest capital cities of the recognised Kingdoms of Eichern in population density and economic standing.
The city itself is outside any rule of Kingdom or the laws of Gods, it has its own law; but respects and obeys the laws of the opposing business partner when it comes to contracts. Due to no claim on the land itself, the Malana Chain are also referred to as the Free Islands. They have no overarching government and therefore no law outside established settlements. Terenwe was established as a community who's central value was a person's word. Handshake deals are 'sacred', deception or double-crossing is heavily punished in the walls of Terenwe.
