The Order of the Unbranded

The Order of the Unbranded was founded by Willoughby Druffin as an avenue for the oppressed unbranded to express their dissatisfaction with the implicit rule of the branded families. The Order has a variety of positions that enable the functioning of the broad network of members. The Order use an improved sub-basement of Mastiff Hall as their headquarters and all activities are coordinated from their. The primary activity of the Order is distribution of their leaflets known as Fleas. Other less visible activities include destruction of machinery or resources belonging to some of the more oppressive branded, physical harm or threat of harm to abusive members of the branded community, theft of money or resources from oppressive branded families. Action can be taken against individuals, enterprises or families as determined which type of action will best influence the perceived offense. This is a point that causes some dissension in the ranks of the Order. Offenses are reported through the channels of operatives that carry messages to and from Mastiff Hall. From time to time operatives have submitted false reports to address a personal grudge. Most of the time verification has exposed the lie and negative action prevented, however, enough false reports have ended in action that local leaders are suggesting at regular intervals, that some of the operational planning be delegated to more local operatives so verification and prioritizing of objectives can be quicker and more topical. While the Order has been designated a terrorist organization by the Branded Families, there are many locations where the unbranded question their methods as well. All of the Order's objectives and activities are designed to hinder the rule of the Branded Families and hopefully enable unbranded rule or share of rule. But often their is collateral damage and in cases where the body count is significant enough, the Order has been outlawed by local unbranded authorities as well. This hasn't stopped the distribution of Fleas, but it has cut down on recruitment in those areas. However the recruits that are gained are effective and zealous.
