I can do it. I can make it where you can watch your children grow. I can make it where you will die with him. I just... He made my life easier... So I wish to make his life better.— Empress Tala to Alina
Something dark and twisted. Something born of the darkness and perfected by evil they say. While most of the world has no idea of its existence as there is only one manual and only one who holds it. It is a magical art that takes something from the user, something that makes them what they are. At least those are the rumors.
The Art of Dravassi Alchemy
Created by a large group of Drassi with the lead being Iymriia Vrammyr. It is theorized by them that this is something the Eidolons use when creating things or at least was used by them at some point. With the finding of an Edio'shii and through a lot of trial and error to get things started. The group of Drassi mages broke through and began working on the baseline of how this magical art worked.
Once the baseline was fleshed out, Iymriia Vrammyr then murdered them. While it wasn't done out of anger or jealousy, she felt the whole art was too tempting to lead her people into a darkness she couldn't save them from. Though nearer the end of her life she would use this art to extend her life and take on a new life, keeping her title and promise of seeing her people freed.
In the end, it would lead her down madness and destroy her.
What is needed for Dravassi Alchemy
- Trapped Soul
- Edio'shii
- Willing or Unwilling Person/Creature
The True Cost of Use
In the leather-bound book, there are a few notes from the creators of the Dravassi Alchemy, mostly about what the true cost is. As noted there are bits that make a person human that gets stripped away, that no matter the good intention it often leads to darkness.
The most and well only practitioner started off innocent and then through overuse of this art turned into what most would call a monster. Each time she gave herself a new life part of her was lost, this was noted in her extensive journaling.
Edio'shii
Edio'shii, or Eidolon Goblet in common, is one of the main needs to have as Dravassi Alchemy does not work without it. Drassi Mages had no physical evidence as to how many there are they did theorize that there were at least 12. The Drassi uncovering one of them and looking for the others. Thinking that at the start of their use they were needed but as the Eidolons grew in understanding of their own magical ability they were tossed aside and lost to time.
Notes About Edio'shii
- Most Edio'shii aren't detectable via magic as in using detect magic on an Edio'shii produces no ping with the spell. It takes someone who has been trained to use Dravassi Alchemy to pick out an Edio'shii but even then they could be wrong.
- What happens when you drink from an Edio'shii and not preforming Dravassi Alchemy. People exposed to use of these items often take on aspects of the domain of the Eidolon they belonged to.
