Lord Ardrik Deepdelver

Ardrik Deepdelver was lord of the Vundkragi city of Xam from EL 789 to his death in 1003. He rose to lordship after the sudden death of his father, Lord Aervar Deepdelver. There were whispers that Aervar's death was not natural, but these rumors were never substantiated. Ardrik showed himself to be a cruel ruler, implementing racist policies against his non-dwarven subjects and heavily taxing the city even in times of widespread strife. A rebellion broke out around the turn of the 9th century, and Ardrik had all those involved publicly executed.
Ardrik was married in 871 to Effrida of House Gorunn, although after their son Avram was born in 878, the public rarely saw Effrida. She appeared publicly for the first time in years at his funeral in 1003, whereupon Avram took up lordship of Xam.
