Shadowfell

The Shadowfell is the negative reflection of the material plane. A domain of despair and darkness, it is a desolate, numbing place that destroys emotion and hope. It is pervaded by shadowstuff, a corruptive material that infects the mind and alters the body over long periods of time. The only humanoids native, or nearly native, to this plane are shadar-kai, and aside from a few beasts and stonelike flora, the only living things to be found there are the sorrowsworn, dangerous physical manifestations of negative emotions.
