The Laurels
The Laurels are a Vundkragi military order assembled by General Helvet Hillenbrok in the 930s. They are an army for hire, and were prominent allies of Vundkrag in the War of the Storm. However, the events of the war, encompassing several scandals, tainted their reputation significantly; generally, the public came to believe that the army's self-promotion had fully turned into fearmongering, selling their services on the basis that they were well-established and trustworthy whereas many others were not. Still, the strategy proved effective, and they continued these tactics into the Eventide and beyond. General Hillenbrok retired very rich in 1004, and his successor, Obius Rezgred, had a less aggressive marketing strategy. The army is still active but not as much so, nor is it as large, as of 1025 comprising approximately 60 soldiers against about 120 at the height of its success.
