The Telvak
The Telvak was a large Ramelan army known for several bloody military campaigns under the warlord Benbrod Thrice-cursed. It originated as a smaller unit known as the Jetsam, which Benbrod purchased in 1020 from the pirate captain Solm Cruorblade, who had recently captured them from a lord of Hish. The Jetsam had been comprised of human men who had been sold as children and trained to hold combat as the one true purpose of life, and their commander, known to them as "Vektgar," as the facilitator of all their battles. "Telvak" was chosen by Benbrod as a Ramelan translation of their original name.
Under his management, the army grew rapidly in the span of a decade, mostly comprising young men who were taken as teenagers and beaten and brainwashed to hold the ideals of a proper Telvak. The boys came from kingdoms all over Avera. At the time the War of the Telvak began, the army comprised almost one thousand soldiers, and most of them had been slain by the time the war ended. It is estimated that there were about fifty surviving Telvak after the war's end, though many continued their bloody paths and were killed individually over the following one to two years.
