Dendar

A yuan-ti god prophesied to consume the world in darkness and chaos. Scholars of the Ageless One have two theories about Dendar's origins:

• Dendar is a draconic entity who traveled to Ekal alongside the original generation of Dragon God-Kings, betraying them to consume the world's primordial energy for his own. 
• Dendar is a primordial birthed in Ekal's inchoate prehistory, who rose to oppose the Dragon God-Kings global conquests to keep Ekal for his own. 

Regardless of the theory, Dendar has struggled to exert much influence beyond the reaches of Sheyuan in the intervening millennia. Dendar's cultists occasionally surface in cities throughout Ekal to sow chaos and set the stage for Dendar's final meal, but currently his forces have been distracted by a holy war with Merrshaulk's followers over the fate of Sheyuan's yuan-ti.

The followers of Dendar believe that the world beyond Sheyuan's borders is a mistake, a farce crafted by the Dragon God-Kings that must be erased by Dendar's final consumption. Once consumed, Dendar will birth a new primordial world free from outside influence. Any action taken to accelerate this final consumption is sanctioned by Dendar's religious leaders, thus justifying millennia of murders and manipulations.
