Gell Hammerfist

A male half-orc and leader of the Kobold Shipping Service, 914 - Present. He continued to ensure his organization's success even after the Treaty of Rel-Kadrar sealed off several vital smuggling routes through the Verschow. In honor of his mentor Morkos Flamehaven, he too eats the pinky fingers of new KSS recruits.

Personal history

Gell never knew his parents since he was dropped at steps of the local Temple of the Ageless One, raised by the local priests. He was taught to be strong yet sympathetic, always willing to help those with less opportunity or power. His life philosophy of self-improvement gained popularity in the orcish region of the Elflands Empire, leading to several run-ins with the local magistrates.
Gell decided to leave the Temple to protect the priests from further harassment, taking a temp job as an adventurer for the Royal Knights Brigade in 896. Queen Astrid had to visit the region for the funeral of Emperor Polonius Avon III, and she needed a local with knowledge of the territory to assist them on their travels. After the bombing of Kassadeia's Temple of the Ageless One and a trip to Noggin, Gell joined the party in their work for the Characters to topple the Elflands government.
In Kassædeia Gell began to dabble in the production of moonshine, crossing paths with an elderly dragonborn named Morkos Flamehaven. Gell disappeared for several months after this encounter, but when he rejoined the party in Grendel it was revealed that he had joined Morkos’ bootlegging operation known as the Kobold Shipping Service. He helped the party rescue the The Mariner in Thork and defeat a couple of fomorians back in Kassadeia, but after nearly dying he decided to retire from the adventurer’s life and focus on his moonshine. It's hard to fault him, Gell can craft some of the best damn moonshine in Pescaliat. After a few years of failing to expand the business' operations into the Underdark he retreated to KSS headquarters to work on crafting higher-quality moonshine, but after Morkos' passing he became the group's leader and helped to legitimize the group's moonshine operation. He's found ways to still make a profit on the KSS' old smuggling routes.
