GHG Session 3: There's Always a Sahuagin in the Sewers
General Summary
Month 8, Week 4, Year 918
The Fortunate Five finally arrived in Silvio after a week's worth of traveling, Sardivelia's second capital for overseeing all the territory annexed by the Treaty of Iverburg. The newly-constructed Uffizi towered over the vast city as the party made their way over to Bocaccio's near the docks, where they hoped to gather some more intel on Ilariano Vivaldi's location. Making small talk with the dwarf-dragonborn bartender Thorgrim, the party learned more about the different neighborhoods in town and how wealth seemed to be concentrated in the city's center. Some of the wanted posters at the bar mentioned an 'Invisible Killer' stalking the streets of Silivio, having murdered half a dozen nobles in the past couple weeks. Argus, pensive after learning about the diminished bounty on his head, decided to explore the city with Windred in tow to search for this invisible killer. Meanwhile Phaedra looked around for brothels that catered to wizards like Ilariano, only coming across one for sailors called the Shimmering Mermaid. Zan'kiri set about luring out Ilariano with flyers advertising the discovery of a purple grung, and Ysmyrelda managed to put on an entertaining performance at the tavern with Phaedra's help. Argus and Windred found a rooftop that provided a panoramic view of the city, offering plenty of paths of explore in search for the killer. The two decided to head for the Marino, an impoverished neighborhood in the northwest of town where the city's amphibious races lived in squalor (they had decided that a kuo-toa or grung would be most likely to be responsible for killing so many nobles). Despite some odd looks from the locals, they discovered a hidden tunnel beneath a statue of the god Seevo. Swimming through the submerged passageways led to a small tunnel with some breathing room, the two adventurers pushing forward until they came face-to-face with two sahuagin. In contrast to memories of the Sunken God's Reign of Terror, these sahuagin didn't immediately attack and instead shook Windred down for her goodberries. They then tried to take Argus and Windred back with them to meet with a mysterious individual named 'Whitefin', but Argus smeared one of the sahuagin like fishpaste over the tunnelway before racing for the exit. Windred sealed up the tunnels behind them after some close calls with the sahuagin, swimming back aboveground and racing for Bocaccio's. No Ilariano in sight.
