GHG Session 57: Statues for Sale
General Summary
Month 4, Week 1, Year 919
When the hologram of Naum Kulikov learned that the party hadn't been properly challenged to obtain one of his hand-made relics like Teherse'singh, the hologram activated multiple security measures to provide them with a much-delayed challenge to prove their worth. The fight raged on for several moments as a blend of Old Myltevian spirits and enchanted silverware started attacking the party. But the group proved victorious, adventurers like Zan'kiri and Windred capable of resisting the worst effects conjured up by Naum's hologram. Having survived three of the sixteen demiplanes in Naum's lab, the party turned the dials towards a dial of particular interest to Teherse'singh: the celestial demiplane. In a room that would not look out of place in an Ageless One cathedral, the hologram of Naum explained to the party how he won a game of wits with a powerful of deity to win control of numerous angels and bend them to his will. He ended up splicing the angel spirits with the bodies of commoners throughout the Old Myltevian empire, selling these super-powered constructs to the highest bidder to fund his more ambitious projects. Teherse'singh was one such commoner, plucked from the mountains or grassland steppes of Pescat and sold to Monomakh the Foreseer more than 4,000 years ago. The hologram of Naum could hardly be bothered to answer all of Teherse'singh's burning questions, making it clear that T should report to Monomakh if he sought any further guidance or enlightenment. The Fortunate Five continued to explore the demiplanes, visiting a sealed-off section of the Astral Sea and playing a game of dragonchess in an attempt to learn more about the Dragon God-Kings of the 1st Cycle. The exploration through the Naum's lab was cut short when the strange-colored ooze stored inside Zan'kiri's magic lunchbox broke free, gorwing and evolving within the confined space until it had the power of a high-level Star Spawn at its disposal. The party fought it off and evacuated the students from the lab, finding a way to trigger the lab's explosives to seal the ooze within the lab's confines. Prof. Klute was downright hostile towards any attempts at evactuation, but some party member convinced him to see reason through diplomatic (or, more likely, violent) means.
The explosion was centered on the immediate vicinity surrounding the lab thanks to the party's explorations, sparing neighboring Shisu and sealing away the strange-colored ooze for the foreseeable future. The explosion appeared to seal the entryways to the lab while leaving its interior mostly intact, meaning that a group of spellcasters could theoretically return one day to and attempt a thorough review of the rest of Naum's collection. But a mission like that lay somewhere in the far-off future, for the time being the FF sailed back to Sanjuro City to help Kyoko Hara get ready for a conference that would forever change their lives.
