KKO Session 2: Hookah and Intel

General Summary

• Tevlin drives the party to Ichigo, the capital of Kawa Clan territory
• A pack of Kenkus fight them on road, Balasar splits leader in half with his greataxe
• Stabs another one straight through with his spear
• The third one runs away
• Bucephalus plays tunes along the way, pretty good show
• In Ichigo Tevlin drops them off and tells them to find informant
• There should be a guy who can give them lead on Paper Dragons
• But first, party goes on shopping spree to buy nicer clothes
• Later they get a tip to check out a casino near the Kawa palace
• Guards at the entrance, but they smuggle weapons inside
• Bucephalus cleans up at the blackjack table
• Guppy loses
• Balasar asks around about informant, doesn’t get lead
• Eventually a guy comes up threatening to kick them out
• Balasar explains situation, convinces him to take them to informant
• The man takes them to executive lounge where a gnome is smoking hookah
• His name is Dowd, and he’s an information broker in these parts
• Bucephalus takes long drag from his hookah
• Dowd explains origins of Paper Dragons and how they take advantage of Kiri-Kawa Wars
• Arms deals, extortion, kidnappings, intrigue, etc.
• The Paper Dragons hated the wedding since it would interfere with profits
• He’ll give over the names of the five leaders for free, but for a favor
• His daughter joined the Paper Dragons, and he wants her rescued
• Suddenly the lounge’s door slides open and Dowd’s guard collapses, dead
• A Paper Dragon assassin has a crossbow aimed at them
• He fires at Dowd, but Bucephalus and Guppy save him
• Balasar grapples and knocks out assassin
• They find origami owl with Dowd’s name on it inside the assassin's pack
• Also some kind of poison for worst-case scenario
• Dowd is super grate for them saving his life
• He promises to say a good word to Kawa Clan about them
• His guards come in to take care of Dowd and KO’d assassin
• That night party gets drunk at local hookah bar
• The next couple days the party explores Ichigo
• Bucephalus buys healing potion and ‘Amulet of Rexfur’
• It turns him invisible for an hour each day, but he's not sure who the god is
• Party takes a good look at the list of Paper Dragon leaders Dowd gave them
• Dowd’s daughter, Saoirse, turns out to be one of the major leaders
• They show Tevlin the list, he starts driving them to Dolian
• Their next target will be down there
