KKO Session 9: The Silk Page's Siege

• Party just days away from Sanjuro City
• Bucephalus on watch, sees a Paper Kyo trying to attack them
• She’s made of red paper, with billowing scarf covering throat/mouth
• Balsar and Nyana do loads and loads of damage
• Bucephalus delivers killing blow with his rapier Parme
• They find another chain on Kyo with Paper Dragons symbol on it
• Who’s sending all these paper abominations?

• Party arrives in Sanjuro City
• Four days before Silk Page will invade the city
• A delegation from Kawa tribe is there to convince city to join their side
• Day one Bucephalus goes to potions shop for supplies
• The dark elf isn’t impressed by him, charges 300GP for supplies
• Bucephalus decides to break in and steal items instead
• That night party debates how to warn Lord Mayor
• Nyana isn’t wanted, so she should be the one to make the case
• Bucephalus will come along, handcuffed like he was caught by Nyana
• So, on the second day
• Nyana goes to oldest part of City, gets stopped at gate
• Bucephalus is recognized from the Paper Wedding
• Convinces guards to give them audience with Lord Mayor
• But he’s not alone
• On fifth floor of the Amber Palace, Lord Mayor Yangtze is having tea
• Chagall, head of Kawa tribe, is there as well
• Once again, Bucephalus the silver-tongued convinces Yangtze and Chagall of Silk Page threat
• Chagall’s heard rumors of Ream and its magical pages
• Reluctantly, he agrees to pardon party
• Lord Mayor, concerned, tasks party with preparing fortifications for city
• The next couple days are spent preparing town for war
• Nyana prepares fire moat, tar and pitch on city gates
• Rest of party tasked with overseeing units and strategy
• The Battle of the Silk Page (First ever D&D battle!)
• Bucephalus and Balasar are leading units outside city
• Nyana’s is on top of town gate
• Guppy is organizing three units inside city, praying to Seevo
• Silk Page arrives with five units
• three infantry, one cavalry, one archers
• Page is in shape of mounted horseman
• Silk page focuses attack on Bucephalus’ unit
• gets pushed back, Silk Page regroups with cavalry unit
• Balasar’s unit gets defeated, pushed back to wall
• Nyana stops unit from climbing over wall
• But Silk Page’s archers are relentless, deal a lot of damage
• All of Guppy’s praying pulls off
• Reinforcements appear on battlefield
• A water hand appears from northern lake, slams into reinforcements
• Balasar is awesome too, plowing down units
• Unfortunately it’s not enough, and party is pushed back into gates
• Silk Page’s archers defeat final unit, battle is lost
• Party falls back behind the gates of the Old Palace
• Lord Mayor Yangtze is convinced to flee city with the remaining army
• Bucephalus and Nyana convince some soldiers to help them stay and fight
• 75 from the city gates, 25 from the rest of city decide to join
• Nyana sets tremor traps in front of gate, Balasar fills cauldrons of acid
• Bucephalus prays to Rexfur
• Boss Battle: Silk Page and its army
• The tremors damage Page’s troops, acid is mostly avoided
• Silk Page breaks down gate’s door in a dragon shape w/ wings and dragon face
• Balasar and Nyana miss a lot of attacks
• Nyana gets beaten up a lot by Silk Page
• Guppy heals her some, but he gets KO’d
• Bucephalus casts shatter, which is powerful against page-like beings
• Silk Page’s army pushes back troops, almost down to the wire
• Nyana finally casts primal savagery and defeats Silk Page
• Throat’s torn out, but Page is alive if terribly wounded
• The Silk Page flees city with remaining forces back into Koulan Forests
• Bucephalus, with Rexfur’s help, raids Sanjuro City treasury and gets 600GP
• Mako, head of forces that stayed and fought, speaks with party
• Him and his 50 remaining men agree to stay and fight w/ party
• The party is making an army of its own!
• -Lord Mayor Yangtze is thankful for party’s help, but he wants them to leave
• -He feels threatened by their new army, and he doesn’t want trouble
• -On the plus side, Bucephalus is no longer cursed by Ageless One!
• -Two of them are even since he saved some temples from destruction
• -Next stop, Ichigo
