"I was only a thri-kreen for a couple of months, but the experience forever changed the way I saw the world. It was like I put on a new pair of lenses, and through my antennae I could see the ebbs and flows of the world in real time." -Flora, recounting her time spent as a thri-kreen, 899, 4th Cycle
A soft-spoken race of insectoid nomads, the thri-kreen have more experience trekking the vast wastelands of the
Campanel Desert than any other race on Ekal. Acting as sherpas through the desert for pilgrims and merchants alike, thri-kreen have been known to frustrate their passengers for their neutral response to every situation and reliance on telepathic communication. If a thri-kreen ever grows tired of their life as a sherpa, they can always abandon the trade and return to the legendary city of
Thrah-Kezaam while another thri-kreen appears in town to take its place.
Additional Information
- More than 90% of the world's thri-kreen reside in the Campanel Desert in the center of the continent of Pescat, patrolling the wasteland and guiding pilgrims/merchants from one city to the other. Only the foolish provoke a thri-kreen on such an expedition, as thri-kreen are known to abandon pilgrimages in the middle of the desert if they feel insulted by their employers.
- For the remaining ten percent, thri-kreen tend to leave the Campanel Desert for a specific purpose or spiritual journey. The legendary thri-kreen city of Thrah-Kezaam is rumored to be available to any thri-kreen who desires it, but some feel the need to see more of the world or redeem themselves for crimes they may have committed in the Desert before they decide to return home.
