Culture
Common Dress code
Typical dress style doesn't vary much between genders as it does between classes. Warriors and soldiers aren't expected to wear anything covering their chests, but are expected to cover their legs, and anything that shows off any battle scars. Spiritual leaders cover their whole bodies, wearing feathered wooden masks and lightweight, cloth robes. Everyone else typically wears an assortment of tunics, pants, and scarves or shawls. All clothing is made out of animal hides or light, plant-based material.
Common Taboos
Having a child out of wedlock is severely looked down upon. It often ruins the mother if she decides to keep it, or results in the abandonment or even death of the baby. Infidelity is not tolerated in most Hatchani communities.
Ideals
Beauty Ideals
The Hatchana nation has a great history of jewelry making. Typically, the sort of thing one can find there are simple necklaces or bracelets made of thick clay beads or in a cuff style. Things like piercings are considered very ugly, as it damages the body with no purpose. Tattoos and scars often have mixed reception, as the idea of beauty comes from reasoning. Battle scars are celebrated, with celebratory tattoos markind around them. Both men and women tend to grow out their hair, keeping it straight down their backs or pinning up the sides. Darker skin is usually more popular, as it proves a person's been outside, working for their tribe and family.
