Episode 29
General Summary
Collective Action continue their journey northward to the ruins of Vodas, encountering yet another glimpse into the past. This time, they bear witness to the pivotal moments leading to Celine's soul transference into a Warforged body, an event previously shrouded in mystery.
They setup camp on the outskirts of the ruins, but their sleep is soon interrupted when Meepo and Celine dash off towards the heart of the ruined temple, drawn by the flickering glow of lights amidst the rubble. Meepo, ever the curious creature, takes the lead in investigating the source of the illumination.
Inside the temple's chamber, Meepo's keen eyes discern a figure amidst the debris, a young man garbed in regal robes. Nearby, members of The Green Gang lie motionless, accompanied by the shell of a Flail Snail. Scaling the temple's walls for a better vantage point, Meepo catches sight of Firebird and The Green Gang leader stationed as sentries.
M, the enigmatic presence guiding their journey, materializes beside Meepo, urging him to stall the man below as he likely has the crown she covets. Celine arrives just in time to eavesdrop on the unfolding events as Meepo attempts a diversionary tactic, deploying bells and whistles to distract the mysterious robed figure.
Despite Meepo's efforts to conceal himself with an invisibility potion, the robed man demonstrates an uncanny awareness of his presence, engaging in a telepathic exchange with both Meepo and Celine. The rest of the party soon arrives, drawn into a tense dialogue with the man, revealed to be "The All Knowing," an Aboleth leader from the ancient civilization.
Upon glimpsing the party's peculiar tattoos, the robed figure deduces their allegiance to his presumed "sister" and offers a bargain: aid him in exchange for liberation from their servitude. Rejecting the proposition and suggesting that Brutus Knightsbridge might be able to offer more details regarding their presence on God's Fall, the man swiftly turns hostile, joined by Firebird and the Orc leader in an assault on the party.
Though initially overwhelmed, the tide turns in favour of the attackers with the arrival of reinforcements in the form of Chuul. As the skirmish escalates, Nobanion, the majestic lion, charges into the fray, announcing his presence with a fierce roar. He urges the party to pursue the Aboleth, as he begins attacking the Chuul.
In a further twist, Saquilora descends from the heavens, plunging into the pool with a thunderous splash. The giant serpentine guardian instructs the adventurers to hold on, as he throws Chuul aside in the search for their aberrant leader.
