Feurventa
Feurventa is the central and largest island in the archipelago known as the Islands of Flame.
At the centre of the island is a large active volcano, which produces a nutrient-rich soil for crops to be grown upon. A local tribe seem to worship the volcano as some sort of god, and make their homes around its base. They somehow survive the eruptions of the volcano, suggesting that there may be something to their claim...
An account of Valifar the Explorer from his travels at sea:
"During my time at sea I have seen nothing quite like the volcano that sits in the centre of Feurventa. It is truly something to behold! Its smouldering top seems to constantly churn out plumes of black smoke, creating stormy weather in the area on a regular basis. During my time on the island, I encountered a local tribe who seemed friendly enough, but were very insistent that I see the mountain up close. I was somewhat curious, but their fervour and veneration of this mountain had me on edge... we've all heard tales of crazy tribes who sacrifice travellers in volcanos..! I stayed one night before carrying on my adventurers. Had the island been uninhabited I may have stayed longer, but something just felt off to me. Let's call it an adventurer's intuition."What raw power this volcano exudes. Its continuous plume of smoke leaves one wondering just what devastation could one day destroy the settlements that have gathered around the base of the mountain. This was close enough for my liking...
