Nomads of Olus
Although most of the survivors of The Ascent have adapted to their new situation, some refuse to accept the changed and seek to retain their old ways. The biggest group of these few are the Nomads of Olus.
This tribe has historically never settled anywhere, only setting up tents and staying in one place for a few weeks at a time before packing up and leaving again. They hunted or fished for food, never taking to agriculture. Thus, this new situation provided a uniquely more difficult situations for these people.
Instead of adapting, trying to plant crops and harvest, they retained their old behaviors and are, to this day, still fishing to support their people.
Because of the new dangerous new wildlife that has appeared, they had to come up with new techniques, to keep their people safe. Although stunted in terms of technological advancement, these Nomads are a crafty folk. Combining rope and pullies, the created makeshift elevators, in which the hunters would be lowered down onto the waters surface, where they would spearfish for food. The lookout they always take with them, would immediately ring a bell if they saw something suspicious in the water, upon which the cage they were lowered in would be violently pulled back. Although not perfectly safe, this technique allowed the tribe to still be fed by the sea. In addition, this is the only culture that truly holds some knowledge of what lurks below.
Eventually, the technology on how to build airships reached them. Opting for smaller vessels accompanying a big flying ship with living space on it, they can sometimes be seen floating across the sky, in search of new hunting and fisihing grounds.
