Gamiantown Wassersteyn
Wandering on the beaches of Wassersteyn was a memorable experience. Seeing the white sand being washed over by crystal clear water with the large red and white cliffs to your other side is humbling. Looking up, you can see the wallsand roofs of the houses, many rich people have built here, a stark contrast to the ancient tower complex carved into the cliffs themselves. After this, you turn a corner and the cliffs open to a protecte dharbour where you finally see the real community of Wassersteyn. This region is simply defined by edges and contrasts. The region around the settlement Wassersteyn at the Gamian Coast is ruled by a mecrentile council and a member of the Gamian Group Trade Alliance. Wassersteyn is well known for its large cliffs and long stretches of beaches below and has become a well-liked summer residence of many wealthy families. Wassersteyn itself is a very small settlement, only its position between the mouths of the Fenoria Stream and the Rosteyn River as well as their well-protected harbor made it initially relevant. The region is unusually dry and not well suited for agriculture, except for herding of goats and a few resilient fruit trees. However, fish are plentiful in the sea and the local cuisine is well known for its exquisite sea-food based dishes.
Summer Residences
In recent decades, several wealthy families have constructed residences in the area. During early summer and fall, they would spend several weeks here, filling the rather sleepy town with a lot of action and noise. The festivities and balls of the higher society have provided an unexpected influx of wealth to the town, which so far embraces the visitors. There is some underlying reluctance to fully accept them, however, as some people of Wassersteyn fear the outsiders are endangering the culture of their community. Most of the summer residences are built on top of the cliff, above the core of the original town, to take advantage of the beautiful view across the Gamian sea. There has developed some kind of secondary town center, to accommodate the needs of the noble residents. Currently, a large temple of Lirini is in construction, both as a gathering place as well as a center for celebrations and high-society events.Cliffs of Wassersteyn and the ancient tower
The cliffs of Wassersteyn are well known, due to their characteristic white and red layers. Several artists have used the cliffs as a motif which has spread throughout the nation of Caramiza. The depictions often include the old, ruined tower that is partially built into the cliffs, often imagining the original purpose of the tower. The leading theory is the tower being a derelict lighthouse, but there are neither documents to verify this nor is the tower in a sufficiently good state to properly judge its former function.
