The Worktransit Carriage is a service offered by Whitesteel Inc to all of their workers living in their provided worker's housing to be ferried back home after their workday. The gathering in the spacious, repurposed cargo carriages have developed into a platform for blackmarket activity, underground gambling and a recruiting ground for the Steelbrethren rebellion. As far as most workers know, the leadership of Whitseel Inc either is not aware or does not care about these activities.
The carriages are usually used for transporting cargo between the various production sites. In an effort to reduce worker's unproductivity due to lack of sleep, the company decided to provide the workers with a means of getting home easily. This service is deducted from the worker's monthly payment, regardless of them using the carriage or not, a fact that few are actually aware of.
Since the carriages are windowless and spaceous, the workers quickly started to organize various activities in the carriage. As a result, each carriage is either a blackmarket, a gambling hall, an impromptu tavern, a recruiting grounds for the rebellion, or all of the above. The carriages are visibly numbered on the outside, making it easy for any worker to find the carriage with the service they are interested in.

Some higher commanders in the steelbrethren rebellion are concerned about the rising number of worktransit recruiters disappearing without a trace lately.

There no longer is a wagon 166, after a hobby-magicians improvised tricks set the whole carriage in flames. The Whitesteel Inc foreman was heavily annoyed by the loss of a perfectly good carriage and slightly irritated about the loss of seventeen perfectly healthy workmen.

Carriage 488 cannot be entered without a written invitation by a mysterious group. It is a complete secret what is happening inside and even the Whitebowler Agents reportedly have no inside man in there.
