Theocritus
Priest Theocritus
Priest Theocritus is the religious advisor to King Aris. Branching from that he is also head of social services and magical users registry. Chosen by the previous king for his strict stance on magical users he has spent 30 years advising the King's council on how best to deal with magic users in order to please the gods. His guidance has led to policies strengthening the Magical Safety Act. One of his most controversial policies is the Magic User Work Program, a program design to help magic users be productive members of society. This allows criminals who have magic abilities to work off their sentence using their abilities for the good of the Temples.
His policies have made it increasingly difficult to be a magic user in everyday society. If a magic user commits a crime or is suspect of one they are often subject to harsher punishment. If they use their ability to commit a crime they are often permanently put in the custody of Loyalists.
His policies both work against and further motivated The Gifted.
