Viridis Pyle

The trees are lush and bright green, tall evergreens, maples and alder trees reach leafy branches to the sky. This thick canopy covers much of the ground in shadow. Lichen spans the branches like curtains. The forest floor is covered in soft moist earth and dark green moss. Any discernable path is blocked by large ferns and bushes covered in bright ripe berries.   At night people say that a soothing lullaby can be heard luring tired travelers in for the long sleep. Any search parties that span out in the morning do so tied in groups for fear of getting lost. If someone has a keen eye they might see formations of Pillow Moss that look suspiciously body shaped. Any work or equipment left in the forest over night is left broken outside the forest in the field. After years of disappearances and broke things no one in the village nearby dares to enter beyond the field. Travelers are warned of the danger but when brave adventurers enter the forest, there is always a few villagers waiting in the morning to scavenge their broken supplies.

Geography

The north side of the forest is cut off by a river, often swollen and rapid from frequent rainfall the widest parts can reach 100 meters across. The east opens onto less dense forest and fields of wild grasses. The west and south are blocked in by sharp cliffs that build into a spanning mountain range. The forest is thick and foggy visabilty is no more than 10 meters before travelers would lose sight of each other.

Fauna & Flora

The forest is teeming with life. Common animals and plants include,   Bears Wolves Deer Moose Rabbits Otters Beavers Salmon Frogs   Evergreens Maples Alder Ferns Lichen Pillow Moss

Natural Resources

The river is full of fish but the thick undergrowth surrounding the bank makes it hard to travel in and out with supplies. The forest is dense and often covered in a fog. The side of the mountain flush with the forest is said to be rich with untapped minerals.
