Iraq

Iraq, in the heart of the Middle East, cradles the history of ancient Mesopotamia, where the earliest known civilization, the Sumerians, emerged along the fertile lands between the Tigris and Euphrates rivers. This region is often dubbed the "Cradle of Civilization," home to significant historical milestones like the invention of writing and the Code of Hammurabi. Modern Iraq has seen its share of challenges, including conflicts and the quest for stability. Its rich cultural legacy, however, from the ancient city of Babylon to the Islamic Golden Age, continues to fascinate scholars and travelers alike. Iraq's name is believed to be derived from Uruk (Erech), an ancient Sumerian city.
