Tibet

Tibet, known as the "Roof of the World," is a region in the Himalayas, home to the indigenous Tibetan people and their rich spiritual tradition centered around Tibetan Buddhism. Its capital, Lhasa, is the site of hilltop Potala Palace, once the Dalai Lama's winter residence, and Jokhang Temple, Tibet's spiritual heart. Tibet's unique culture, language, and religion have been subjects of international concern due to political and social issues surrounding its governance and human rights. The name Tibet is derived from the Arabic "Tibbat," traveling back through various languages, originally referring to the high plateau and its inhabitants.
