Breac's Guild Report - 0.0.27 agf
Roll, Tenston, Roll
Guild agents Harley, Kaz, Birdie, Belzar, Gaz and Sax were sent north on a reconnaissance mission to the town of Tenston, having been briefed by Breac Sunfist as to the guild’s ongoing diamond shortage and the disappearance of Miko Tanner. They arrived to a town almost cut off from all other civilisation by the undead. The region of Dingaford has always been heavily haunted but of late the troubles had grown and threatened to cut off supply routes from the south. They also met Master Bo’fen, an Eal merchant.
On agreeing to escort Bo’fen’s caravan south to Matoke, Bo’fen advised the group the undead’s attacks had grown once a certain band of ghosts had arrived in a small watchtower west of the road. Bo’fen offered them an increased bounty if they were to take the offensive and deal with the ghosts. He offered them a small silver bracelet to assist them.
On investigating the tower, Belzar was possessed by the ghost of Tillan. After a brief scuffle, Belzar threw off Tillan’s influence, and was shown the history of his death. He had been enslaved by Bo’fen with about 20 others. He was hauling an odd-looking stone, and when he collapsed from exhaustion he was executed and then raised to serve in undeath. It was not established what allowed Tillan to break free from Bo’fen’s control and begin his local insurrection against the merchant.
The party caught up with Bo’fen’s caravan as it continued south, finding it already under attack by waves of zombies and skeletons. They confronted the merchant, defeated him and his bodyguards, and killed him. Once doing so Tillan’s influence was felt to fade as his desire for vengeance was fulfilled and the waves of undead attacks ceased, sparing most of the remaining caravan guards. Several of Bo’fen’s belongings were secured, including a black rod of dread and ill aspect, and the silver bracelet Bo’fen had initially given them.
