Making things right - the rebuild camp
‘Day One. Met up with my team. A party of Fútil, Grognak, Tulson, Luric, Atholis and Ridge. Sparky was kitted for travel and carried all the building supplies. My team appears fairly diverse and sports multiple frontline fighters, a scout and a magic user. Excellent plenty of versatility. We arrived at a small insignificant village via Phallons plant transport magic, very weird experience, I awaited my party at the edge of the village while they fetched my builders from the tavern. Upon their return and a rather mad dwarven builder I learnt that Fútil grabbed his helmet. Why? I don’t know. I’m getting unsure my team may be a bit immature. The rest of the day went simple enough.   We stopped to find camp, Luric used an owl he had and found the most perfect place to camp. I was rather impressed. The builders, a dwarf named Cobble, 2 humans John and his wife Petra and oddly enough an elf who was rather quiet. He was called Carver. They all cooked dinner while the rest of us relaxed, the night watches reported a rather large weasel carrying a magical item. It’s strange, that’s the 3rd time I’ve encounter a weasel. But enough of that. 2nd Day We encounter a large bog, it wasn’t on my map and we needed to figure how to get Sparky across as he would just sink especially with his current weight. To my surprise it wasn’t the Wizard nor our Scout who found our solution but the Paladin Ridge. He made Sparky walk across the bog with a magical spell. Walk on water I believe? The rest found their own way across easily, two flew, the builders climbed onto Sparky and the rest walked on the bog alongside Sparky.   That night was a harder find for a camp, our Paladin, Wizard and Fighter reported a strange energy in the air and their magic felt hard to use. We pushed through half the night to find somewhere else. Once we settled down, to add onto an already tiring night the night watch reported singing! A group left and returned with non other than Goldheart! We met her a couple weeks ago, she stayed with us. The others seemed to feel safer having a dragon with us, don’t blame them. She seems fond of Tulson, which is good. Friends are important.   3rd Day Almost there! But a ravine?!?! Really? We came across a 45ft wide and ridiculously long ravine. Funnily enough there was much debate on how to get across, well how to get Sparky across and the builders. After much debate the team settle on a plan to Vortex Warp Sparky across, Goldheart kindly agreed to ferry to builders also.   3rd Night Finally a calm night! We arrive at Orrocos in the morning. Good we all get some rest, a lot of building to do. Except I overheard Goldheart talking to Tulson and Athelis about her friend? Someone she was met yesterday back near the bog. An Aurora? Apparently she’s hiding there, her home was destroyed? Very sad. I hope she finds a new place, from the sound of Goldheart she’s a lovely person. 4th Day We arrived at Orrocos and well. It’s bad, the Blight is everywhere, creatures that look like travellers and guards attacked us. They had the vines coming out of them in multiple places, and no matter what we did they just kept getting up. Again and again and again. Our frontline fighters took off heads and limbs, shot arrows and not even magical fire worked well against them! I called for a retreat, luckily Goldheart was with us as two Wyverns emerged from the wreath of vines and thorny tendrils that once was the desolated Orrocos. She fought them mid flight and due to their incredible regeneration they ended up wounding our dragon friend. While we retreated I cut off the building materials to allow Sparky to take a shot. Even his cannon didn’t stop these things. They seem unbeatable! But I digress, as we retreated Goldheart created a line of flame which slowed them a little, after about 100ft of running they just lost interest. Simply didn’t care! They wandered back to Orrocos.   As we regrouped, Goldheart fainted and for whatever Ohmic thought Grognak grabbed one of the Blighted rats! I quickly strapped him to a rock as the rat was buried into his forearm. The savage thing would have killed him had I not performed field surgery, luckily Luric was able to freeze and numb some of the pain for Grognak but the Goliath was still in tears. I operated via one of my spider constructs it burnt away enough tissue for me to remove the rat, shoot it, then trap it into a box with an Arcane Lock. Afterwards I attached a metal alloy panel onto his arm, he has full functionality and hopefully serves a purpose of caution. I engraved my Custom Components logo onto it for good measure! (Note, rat came back to life. Arcane Lock only opens to myself and the Guildmasters. It will be turned over to the High Cleric along with this report.) While we were doing this the rest of the team performed a stealth mission to retrieve the building supplies. From what I heard it was a near perfect success however they alerted the enemy. They haphazardly strapped the supplies to Sparky and the monsters began to catch up. Our Barbarian Warforged turned back and faced the horde, he kept them at bay long enough for the party to cross the ‘safety line’ he however was abducted and stolen away to Orrocos.   Im sad to report Futils death. The builders assembled the camp into a fortified position as best they could and we engraved a plague ‘Camp Fútil In Memory Of A Brave Little Warrior Barbarian’   I used a sending stone and summoned the Verdant Light guards and explained the situation, luckily they brought a wizard and we teleported back to the Guildhall. A teleport circle is being made for Camp Fútil to ensure quick travel. Sparky remains behind as a primary defence in case they are attacked by these Blight monsters.   I will be sending construct reinforcements but I’m afraid it is only a short stopgap. We need a plan…..and fast.”
