Osrindos' Guild report - 0.2.2 agf
The Cold welcome of Exidios
The party was introduced to Ton'kar Rockchomper (Tonks), a dwarf merchant, who has previous trading experience with Exidios. He requested a parcel be delivered to the village High Shaman, and advertised of the cobalt ore currently stored within the nearby Silver Mountains. A trade network could be obtained on behalf of the Guild to acquire these valuable minerals.
A guild team was sent forth. They struck out south-east from the Guild Hall to the north of Tanquary Lake, resting at a small town by the water, continuing north-east toward Stoan Falls, before hiking above the waterfall to rest at Pizol Springs. The party then proceeded south-east-east toward the Yawning Chasm - but cutting north to avoid Mt Pizol's Volcano, and toward the mouth of the Silverdust River.
Using a large rowboat the party proceeded along the Silverdust River. Surrounded by snowy peaks and patches of forest - the first portion of the journey was uneventful. However as the river narrowed, the group was challenged with a series of unstable turns and obstructing terrain. With little difficulty the party prevailed over the obstacles.
As the river shallowed, the party was forced to traverse by foot. Finding the forest path, they eventually were encountered by the Silver Spear Mercenaries. Having fallen into a pit, the party were surrounded by three spear-wielding humans, and a sword-wielding Tabaxi. With extremely fortunate persuasion the party talked their way out of a violent encounter. The Tabaxi introduced herself as Draz'car Silverpaw, the second in command of the Silver Spear company. The party was granted safe passage, and a secure campsite to rest before the final trek to the village.
The party was greeted with unwelcoming glares - from both villagers and mercenaries. They were pointed in the direction of the Shaman's premises, a cluster of small huts located on the southern slope overlooking the village. There, the High Shaman Osrindos was seemingly expecting the group. Osrindos agreed to the shipment of cobalt ore in exchange for 100g per fortnight. 200g worth of cobalt ore (worthless to the people of Exidios, who can't smelt it) would be delivered to Pizol Springs, and the exchange of gold to take place there.
Using an extensive process of cooling and melting, the chemical components inside Cobalt can be extracted out to make magical spell writing ink.
