The Ruby Vulture

The Ruby Vulture is a colossal demonic vulture with large red gemstones all over its body. It revels in bloodshed, flying over battlefields causing all who see it to enter a mindless rage. After every major battle it feasts upon the dead and dying.

Some of the Vulture's cults and followers rever it as Abal returned. The barbarians of the Helgin Glacier to the north take particular offence to this, as for all his other faults, Abal was a god of honor who would feel demeaned by participating in the slaughter of the defenceless or the innocent, or in the betrayal of a comrade. The Ruby Vulture, by contrast, will kill anything and everything, and it inspires the same reckless abandon in others on the battlefield.
