Verdant Light

The Verdant Light started out as a group of volunteers drawn together by Governess Riley of Na’Faish to save the refugees of Glendale fleeing Jae’Kalan’s undead army. At the time they had no real leadership or identity as they fought and tried to save as many people as possible. Seeing the unstoppable destruction caused by the undead army and how the Blight was growing across Elanora, a member of the group rallied the volunteers together and formed the Verdant Light. Their mission was to save as many lives as possible against the Blight and the wrath of Jae’Kalan.   The Verdant Light is headed up by the Tiefling Paladin Athel, with the second in command being Archdruid Serene Ashwood who is spymaster for the organisation. The name, the Verdant Light, referred to the founding members; Light for Athel and Verdant referring to Ashwood’s connection to nature which both will be needed to fight the Blight and undead. The Verdant Light’s members quickly grew across Elanora and the group developed bases in Eal, Frostpine Village, Law-Down and near the Ethereal Tower but had members in many of the main cities.   After Jae’Kalan and his undead army attacked Eal, suffering defeat at the hands of the guild’s heroes, the Verdant Light needed to refocus their efforts; one of their original goals about stopping Jae’Kalan and his army was complete. Athel decided that with tension developing in the north, many left homeless from Jae’Kalan, and the continual threat of the Blight and the Rotwood Conclave, that the Verdant Light needed to become more. They would become a force across Elanora protecting citizens, promoting peace, regardless of boarders through militaristic might. They wouldn’t care about politics or boarders, the Verdant Light will aim to help the peoples of Elanora wherever they live. In order to achieve this the Verdant Light needed a new base of operations and needed to grow so they could help stabilize Elanora. They have setup a new base in Central Elanora called Marikfort – named after a fallen ally, Marek, during Jae’Kalan’s attack on Eal. Athel is already planning a recruitment effort, considering places around Elanora for future development, and reaching out to leaders to create or strengthen relationships. Their emblem is a green background with a sword and staff clashing while two hands shake in the foreground covered in vines.
