Crimson Skies
Structure
The organizational structure of the Crimson Skies reflects a somewhat traditional pirate life. An overview is as followers:
- Captain Isabella "Ironclad" Hawkwind: At the helm of the Crimson Skies is Captain Isabella. As the founder and leaders of the fleet, Isabella holds absolute authority over her crew and is responsible for making all major decisions regarding the fleet's operations, strategy, and direction.
- First Mate: Isabella's first mate serves as her second-in-command and right-hand confidant. This individual assists Isabella in managing the day-to-day affairs of the fleet, overseeing crew discipline, and coordinating activities such as raids and plundering expeditions.
- Council of Advisors: In times of major decision-making, Isabella may convene a council of trusted advisors or veteran crew members to provide counsel and input on important matters. While Isabella ultimately retains the final say, the council serves as a forum for discussion and debate, ensuring that all perspectives are considered before reaching a decision.
- Crew Members: The backbone of the Crimson Skies is its crew, comprised of skilled sailors, fighters, and rogues recruited from all corners of the sea. Each crew member contributes their unique talents and expertise to the success of the fleet, whether it be navigating the ship, manning the cannons, or boarding enemy vessels during raids.
- Specialized Crew Rols: Within the crew, there may be individuals appointed to specialized roles such as navigators, gunners, or quartermasters. These individuals are responsible for overseeing specific aspects of the ship's operation and ensuring that everything runs smoothly during voyages and engagements with enemy ships.
- Divisions and Squads: Depending on the size and organization of the fleet, the crew may be divided into smaller units or squads, each led by a designated leader. These divisions may specialize in different aspects of pirate operations, such as boarding parties, reconnaissance missions, or merchant ship interceptions.
- Alliances and Affilitations: The Crimson Skies may also form alliances or affiliations with other pirate fleets or factions, either through formal agreements or temporary partnerships. These alliances can provide mutual benefits such as shared resources, intelligence, or protection against common enemies.
Culture
- Brotherhood/Sisterhood: Above all else, the crew of the Crimson Skies considers themselves a family bound by loyalty, trust, and mutual respect. Crew members stand by each other through thick and thin, forging unbreakable bonds that transcend mere camaraderie.
- Meritocracy: In the Crimson Skies, respect is earned through skill, courage, and contribution to the success of the fleet. There are no titles or privileges granted solely by birthright; every crew member has the opportunity to rise through the ranks based on their abilities and achievements.
- Freedom and Independence: The Crimson Skies epitomize the spirit of freedom and independence, with each member embracing a life of adventure, exploration, and self-determination.
- Resourcefulness and Adaptability: Survival on the high seas demands resourcefulness and adaptability, and the crew of the Crimson Skies excel in both. They are adept at improvising solutions to unexpected challenges, whether it be repairing a damaged ship, evading pursuit by naval vessels, or outmaneuvering rival pirates.
- Adventurous Spirit: The Crimson Skies embody an adventurous spirit that drives them to seek out new horizons, uncover hidden treasures, and embark on daring exploits across the seas. They thrive on the thrill of discovery and the challenge of conquest, always pushing the boundaries of what is possible.
Public Agenda
- Piracy and Plunder: The primary objective of the Crimson Skies is to plunder merchant vessels, coastal towns, and other lucrative targets, seizing valuable cargo, treasures, and resources to enrich themselves, sustain their operations, and give praise to Calithrion. They view piracy as a means of securing wealth and power while simultaneously striking blows against the oppressive forces of authority and hierarchy.
- Territorial Expansion: The Crimson Skies seek to expand their territorial control and establish a dominant presence in key regions of the seas and skies. They lay claim to strategic ports, islands, waterways, and airflows using their strength and influence to fend off rival pirate fleets and resist incursions by naval powers seeking to suppress their activities.
- Defiance of Authority: As staunch proponents of freedom and independence, the Crimson Skies openly defy the authority of governments, monarchies, and other institutions that seek to impose their will upon the seas. They view themselves as champions of the common folk, fighting against tyranny and oppression wherever it may be found—though the common folk they take from often disagree with this view.
- Cultivation of Fear and Respect: Above all else, the Crimson Skies seek to cultivate a reputation as formidable adversaries whose mere mention strikes fear into the hearts of their enemies. They engage in acts of piracy and brutality—though not outright cruelty—designed to instill terror and respect among those who would dare to oppose them, ensuring that their legend lives on long after they have sailed into the sunset.

- Treasure Hoard: The Crimson Skies possess a vast treasure hoard consisting of gold, silver, jewels, and other valuable loot plundered from merchant ships, coastal towns, and wealthy targets across the seas and skies. The fleet is also supported by a network of hidden coves, secret harbors, and fortified bases strategically located throughout the region. These ships span both sea and sky, allowing the Crimson Skies to have extreme control over where they plunder.
- Cloudripper: The most well known ship of the Crimson Skies, Cloudripper is the ship that Calithrion had sailed through the skies, and is not the signature ship of Isabella. Formatted with a hull coated in Wyrmsteel, this ship is extremely powerful. It is set with a strange form of cannon that is said to be able to disable the flight core of a skyship at a close range, though there have been no survivors to tell if this is entirely true or not.
