The Mystery of the Gemstone Statues

During our various adventures around Cetendar, some of our number have found curious and magical gemstone statues. We've set upon a member of the mage's guild to divine such a thing, but have not yet heard word back from them. Searching through historical tombs, there has been no mention of the statues themselves, but the legionaries on my sapphire statue have led me to believe it is all somehow connected to the battle at White Jaw, with it's accompanying poem; In the Grasp of the White Jaw. This poem speaks of a famous Cetendari Knight heading north to make piece with the Fayhrites and a white dragon.   Now I seek to ask the priests of the temple Ardenia Tessaeron, for we found three of the gemstone statues within a room that is dedicated to their god, among others. I hope some sort of temple will have knowledge of this place, and perhaps be able to point me in the right direction as to finding out exactly what these statues do, and who made them.
