Lady Fanis lost her husband less than a month after marriage. Laelen Fanis had no other family, so Gessica was forced to learn financing, negotiation, and politicking all at once. She has done well and has suitors lined up for the taking. Most are turned away, despite the need to produce an heir for the Fanis holdings; Gessica, apparently, loved her late husband fiercely. The Fanis lands are leased to oat farmers.
