Welcome to the Kingdom of Aētheli
A vast stretch of land ruled for hundreds of years by the Royal House of Goldfire, the Kingdom of Aētheli is the major power on the continent of Amara, the largest continent on the world of Eldara. It also has a unique and diverse population of beast shifters - animals that can change between their natural forms and a bipedal, dexterous shifted form.
A creation of the dragon rulers of Aētheli, the beast shifters believe they owe their existence to the first ruler, King Llyn Goldfire, and his descendants. The beast shifters of Aētheli have spent over six hundred years developing their societies, forming their own cultures, and forging their own way in a world that doesn't quite know what to make of them. Beast shifters rarely if ever leave the kingdom's borders; rumors of the deathly hostile gryphons, the mysterious and treacherous finfolk, and the arrogant and aloof horsefolk have led the kingdom to an insular state of existence, with closed borders and a lack of contact with the outside world.
No society can remain in stasis forever, though, and there are terrible truths behind the Gift given to the beast shifters those hundreds of years ago. When those truths are uncovered, how will they shatter the rule of the Goldfire line, and what comes in the aftermath of the death throes of a kingdom?
