Firbolgs are a reclusive race of giant-kin who preferred to avoid contact with other sentient races.They are among the most intelligent and the most powerful of the giant-kin.

Naming Traditions

As firbolgs refer to each other by their habits and occupations they don't really have names in the way most sentient species have. For this reason they usually adopt elven names when dealing with other species.

Major Language Groups and Dialects

Firbolgs have their own langue which is an offshoot from giant. This langue is only known to them and a few others they have accepted in to their midst. For communication with other species firbolgs generally adopt the langue of the ones they intend to talk to meaning that most firbolgs are versed in common and giant.

Common Customs, Traditions and Rituals

In their role as caretakers, firbolgs live off the land while striving to remain in balance with nature. Their methods reflect common sense and remarkable resourcefulness. During a bountiful summer, they store away excess nuts, fruit, and berries. When winter arrives, they scatter everything they can spare to ensure the animals of the wood survive until springtime.

Common Taboos

In a firbolg's eyes, there is no greater fault than greed. The firbolgs believe that the world remains healthiest when each creature takes only what it needs. Material goods, especially precious gems and gold, have little appeal to them. What use are such things when winter lingers and food runs short?
