Fishfolk
These resilient and proud fish-folk have faced many challenges struggling to survive in such a large ocean with many threats, for this reason they have chosen to build their small underwater communities along the coasts, and hunt both above and below the water.
Ability Score Increase. Your Dexterity score increases by 2 and your Constitution by 1.
Age. Aquarids mature to adulthood by the age of 10 but have been known to live up to 100 years.
Alignment. Most fishfolk including aquarids are more neutral in their approach to life. Taking on foes they are confident enough to deal with and leaving the others alone or fleeing when danger arises. They tend toward good, and their culture places an emphasis on the disadvantaged.
Size. Fishfolk are typically between 4 and 8 feet long and average about 150 pounds. Your size is Medium.
Speed. Your base walking speed is 30 feet, and you have a swim speed of 30 feet.
Natural Armor. You have tough, scaly skin. When you aren’t wearing armor, your AC is 12 + your
Dexterity modifier. You can use your natural armor to determine your AC if the armor you wear would leave you with a lower AC. A shield’s benefits apply as normal while you use your natural armor.
Observant and Athletic. You are initially skilled in Athletics and Perception skills. Increase each by 1 skill rank.
Fish Brain. You have advantage on saving throws against being charmed, paralyzed, and poisoned.
Limited Amphibiousness. You can breathe air and water, but you need to be submerged at least once every 2 long rests to avoid suffocating.
Languages. You can speak, read, and write Aquatic and the Common Tongue.
