Gerald
A former Vedalken criminal who was sentenced to reduced prison time for committing a crime of passion (Murder), for killing someone who was preying on children within his hometown [Unstated], while serving his sentence within the Tear Stone Dungeon he utilized his cellmates strengths of Stealth and Deception to gain items for trade and to take the blame as needed to preserve his reputation to the guards who watched over them. Upon leaving the dungeon after successfully serving his 6-month term, he decided to pursue his newfound appreciation for retribution, seeking a monastery secluded enough where word of his deeds would not follow him. About a year later, after finishing his entry-level training as a monk his past had finally caught up with him, Tyvar, his old cellmate had sought him out in order to collect his list of owed favors, Tyvar's goal was simple, having been disowned by his Father, seek out and claim a foothold for his Father's growing political power. In an attempt to fulfill the promises he owed Tyvar, they spoke to one of the only members of the Thieve's Guild located in Frostfell, Contessa. She was a more experienced member of the organization and had some knowledge that could be leveraged to aid their efforts, and was willing to supply what she could, provided that they would help her first clear out a nearby cave of many arctic wolves and what she believed to be a "Frost Troll," with narrow escapes from death from Tyvar and his ship captain "Roland" who was aiding him at the time managed to make it out. However, Contessa had other plans for Tyvar, prying his metallic face decorations from his skin, she kept them for their weight in gold. With his facial decorations removing the symbol of his lineage Tyvar was stripped of what power he could muster from his remaining ties to his father and he was taken to a small medical building within the monastery where a priestess tended to his wounds. During the aid that was being rendered to him, Gerald pulled 5 coins from his pocket in front of everyone and he began taking them over to the monastery to be given as an offering to his God (Hoar). When Tyvar recovered he made his way to the temple and attempted to stop Gerald from leaving, which resulted in Gerald attempting to push him aside when he was unable to successfully remove Tyvar from blocking his path, a violent fight took place which resulted in the sacrifice of Tyvar onto the offering plate to Hoar. Acceptance of this offering caused his body to glow and dissipate leaving no trace, unfortunately realizing that Gerald has broken monastic tradition by speaking within the temple, he decided to cut off his tongue, no unable to speak common in an intelligible way to anyone who has spent less than a week around him. Finally, Gerald decided to investigate other members of the Thieve's guild branches attempting to find another location in which he could spread the influence of his God by serving people who were not rendered justice in the typical manner.
