Nesselbane's Shadowreaver Unleashed

Master Nightshade releases the Shadow Reaver into the necromantic temple to seek out the soul gem and create the first seed of corruption.

Plot points/Scenes

Prior to this, The players will take part in a couple of chance encounters, 2 at the start of the plot, followed by a selected job from the Styrt Town Center's Bulletin Board. Upon completion of that Job the party should be level 3, going into the Deadly encounter in the Jungle temple, and clearing the temple is just enough for them to hit level 4. At this time, the party has managed to help the town of Styrt by killing a necromancer. The necromancer had taken control over the Jungle crypt that had been dedicated to the order of light. While attempting necromacy to enscribe runes on a sarcophagus where Ethelwyn's body lay, he heard the sound of intruders and rushed above to summon his skeletons and was easily killed by 3 of the party members. Below in the temple crypt, a Dhampir attempted finishing the necromantic ritual that Lord Malgrath had started. Failing to cleanse the sarcophagus of it's previous owner caused the spell to fail, and upon his death the banshee awoke. The party then fought bravely to defeat the banshee, explored and cleared the rest of the tomb and set up camp in the treasure hoard that the banshee had been keeping. resting in the crypts, players either take an ability score increase or a feat, many of the party chose to take feats that had to do with Necromancy since I had given them a restriction that it would have to have been something that they either did as a party or in their background, and then gave some leniency.   The party now awakes from their slumber in the crypt. many of them having nightmares and being overcome by black magical mist and smoke as they awake, they attempt to yell out, but the mist becomes suffocating as it wraps around your mouth grasping a hold on you, you feel the sensation of smoke fill your lung as the mist seeps in through your nose, all of a sudden just as you feel faint and dizzy and the world starts to go black, it ends, you gasp for breathe unclear if it was a dream. Your chest feels heavy and you cough, and a plume of smoke rolls gently out and dissipates within the air. You've now confirmed that this indeed was reality, as you begin to feel the dark magic corsing through your muscles, your skin becomes tight and your veins bulge as black streaks beneath the skin, your hands become extensions of the dark corruption and you feel yourself start to gain control, your body returns to normal as a flash of light emits from your hand and fades, what are these opposing forces, and why have they entangled themselves in you? But before you can think of an answer, a shadowy figure forms in the air and begins lurking about the crypt attempting to find it's way out.

Components

Goals

Locate all of the shadow artifacts, and destroy them. It is prophecized that 6 will appear on the main body of land that peaks its head above the ocean.   Prophetic Counsel can attempt to map the locations of where the artifacts will appear. (DC 15 Religion)   The only prophet who can do this, is one who is a member of the order of light.   mapped locations are: Haven Forest Frostreach Drakonia Vaeloria Eldergard Morhain   The artifacts corrupt these lands, as each time the party goes to these locations they are changed from their normal nature to a much darker version of itself.   Haven Forest - Everyone hates one another and wants to be left alone driving isolation and no parties are thrown, the closest thing they got was when one of the older halflings died they all briefly cheered.   Frostreach - Corrupting the wildlife much more than actual residents of Frostreach, something tells you that this goes a lot deeper that you'd normally expect.   Drakonia - A sprawling concrete capital region of humans make up 20% of the total people in the land, a wrong against one of them would have any orc or goblin executed. Orcs are used as bodyguards, praised for their strength and agression, but those unable to keep it in check are culled off, the Goblins are used for menial tasks and poked and prodded, and socially tortured with fear of death for fun.

Stakes

The world of Eldoria will be plunged into total chaos and darkness should the party fail.

Cruel Tricks

Large and Deadly Monsters and Enemies who's power has been heightened by the corrupted artifacts.
