History

The tradition started when King Leopold (then Lord Leopold) gathered the order of light on the night of the new moon to face the Kraken under 2 divisions, Leopold Manning one division, and General Nessel manning the second. The boats pressed to the sea, as the Kraken began breaking ship after ship, torches on the sides of each shipped remained visible until the giant tentacles snuffed them out, breaking and sinking each ship in its way. When the darkness crept in new torches were lit among Leopold divsion, the light bouncing off their plate armor. A balista from the shoreline fired as the Kraken let out a loud roar. The balista arrow was attached to a winch that began reeling the creature up to shore as King Leopold ran out amongst the crowd and plunged "Lightbringer" through the skull of the creature the sky cracked and a beam of divine lightening fell from the heavens the Kraken laying motionless on the black sand beach, as the sky returned to pitch black.
