Landlocked Orcs
We are the children of Lo'Lorana, of the sea and tides. Yet there are those among us who do not feel the call of the waves and remain on land. They are strange folk, yet still part of us. - Ro-Vak the NavigatorOrcs are born of the sea and surf, though not everyone feels that siren call or the wanderlust. These are refereed to as The Landlocked rather than the Seabound. They remain on shore, often in the permanent structures of the orc clan they belong to. They are used as labor to maintain these ports and ply trades which are not able to be done on the water, such as smithing.

Common Customs, traditions and rituals
Orcs who chose to be Landlocked often cut away the webbing between fingers and toes as an act of defiance to the sea.
Coming of Age Rites
Upon reaching their sixteenth summer, the young orc is presented with the usual coming of age piercing. The location of the piercing is theirs to choose (so long as it is visible) and is made of a precious metal and gemstone or mineral that is significant to their clan. By taking the piercing, the young orc is raised to adulthood as a Seabound sailor and takes a paying job upon a ship, working ideally to captain his or her own vessel one day.
Those who choose not to take the piercing are given a year to reconsider and bind themselves to the sea. While for many this is merely a fear of the piercing or binding to the clan, there are those few who refuse the call of the sea and the urge to roam. By denying this piercing, they are elevated to adulthood as the Landlocked. While some do eventually chose to return to the Sea, they are shunned by the Seabound for their decision.
Landlocked orcs are branded instead [Brand description pending]. This brand is imbued with magic by sea witches to bind them to the settlement they are to tend to. The enchantments may later be altered to allow the person in question to be a roaming trader, though it is rare.
