The Church of St. Dorma

Structure

The church is lead by a high priest or priestess. Below them is a group of twelve apostils, descended from the twelve disciples of St. Dorma herself. Below them is the priesthood, then the acolytes, initiates, and finally the orphans.

Culture

The members of the Church of St. Dorma are very strict and short of patience. They do not tolerate tomfoolery and mete out severe physical punishments to those beneath them who violate the tenants. They are intolerant of anyone worshipping the "old gods" and quickly make examples of them through public torture and punishments.

Public Agenda

The organization seeks to save the souls of all peoples on Eldris. They provide a charity for the poor, hospitals for the sick, and military intervention against demons and evil beings who worship the old gods.

Assets

The church has it's own land, cities, villages, and farms upon which it relies for most of it's goods. They are said to train the best horses available on Batolund. Other settlements owned by the church are found around the world, except on Berdea. They provide church related services to the people of the world, such as birth rites, funeral rites, blessings, purifications, and services. They will often exchange these services for money or goods with many sects of the church offering services free of charge to those with little.

History

The Church of St. Dorma was established shortly after her death.

Religion

The Church of St. Dorma follows an altered tenant of Myrada. While many other church doctrines shifted away from mentioning Amynd within their texts, St. Dorma's followers re-wrote the tenants entirely, praising Myrada and condemning Amynd and any who follow him as evil sinners working to cast the world in darkness and death. They preach violence against any who worship or even accept the death god as traitors to the living world and praise the dead as victims of Amynd's evil designs.
