Vyntalgia (Vin-Tal-Gee-Uh)

Vyntalgia is one of the oldest surviving Kindling villages in the Talynia region of Gyrmania. Historically, it is home to Felicity Rossi and the Rossi family. The village is centered around multiple farms, each producing a variety of grains and some fruits which are used to produce alcohols and feed the region. It has grown from a small village of 50 to a village of 600 farmers, workers, and their families. The region is very well known for their high quality produce and alcohol.

Demographics

Like most of Talynia, Kindlings make up the primary population of Vyntalgia. Approximately 80% of the residents are Kindlings, 10% halflings, and 10% other (humans, elves, half-elves, landlocked orcs)

Government

Vyntalgia is a province of Gyrmania and subjected to Gyrmanian laws and taxes. However, the village is left to handle it's own affairs, per the agreement with the Ableford family when the territory was annexed to protect it. The city is run by a Mayor and a council of elders, which comprises of an elder from each of the major farming families in the region. The mayor is elected by the citizens of the village every ten years, coinciding with the end of the Ten Year Storm, mostly an excuse to hold a grand feast after the snow melts.

Defences

Since the conscription of the Kindling farmers in 1066 AH, the defense of the village has been manned by the conscripts and their descendants, augmented by the Gyrmanian army.

Industry & Trade

Excess produce and alcohols are traded with Gyrmania and neighboring settlements for livestock and other needs.

Infrastructure

Vyntalgia possesses several distilleries, farms, roadways, access to a major river, several contracted vessels for shipping and receiving, windmills, a watermill, and an alchemist.

History

Vyntalgia was settled in the late 900s by three Kindling families as a common area for the farmers. Over time, more farms were added and thus, more buildings. By the time the Demon King's army invaded in 1066 AH, Seven major farming families and the farmhands had settled the area. The Demon Army's battalion was lead by Commander Nicholi Petrov. The vampire held the village for six months before it was freed by Tylvath Delmont, Delilah, Flick Rossi, The Ableford Twins, and Olandel Te Luka. 
After their occupation, the Rossi boys took charge of the village's defenses, training other young men and forming a militia. When the time came to push back against the Demon King, a contingent of the Vyntalgia Militia was sent to war as demolition experts. They returned home heroes with the favor of the Gyrmanian kingdom, securing their defense and freedom. 
Since then, they have been a peaceful and self sustaining village, able to branch out and begin trade, bringing prosperity to the farms.
