Silver Stores

Write about an item that is used to store a specific type of object.

Mechanics & Inner Workings

Wooden outside. Hinges made of metal. The inside of the box is lined with both cloth and metal over the wooden base. Silver is placed inside of it and locked firmly in place.

History

Silver Storers were invented fairly quickly once werewolves discovered a method of indirectly handling the metal which usually hurts them. A series of barriers, manipulated, allows for an object to be handled without worry.   Prior to this, attempts to handle silver were less outright attempts to HANDLE the metal and more desperate scrambles to throw it away without too much damage done to the self.    Initially, Silver Storers were simply constructed of wood. However, in particularly stressful situations,  a keyed up werewolf could still be burned by silver through the metal. The introduction of metal interiors and cloth barriers came about to prevent this accidental interference.

Rarity
While a Silver-Storer is not necessarily rare, the object certainly is uncommon. This uncommon status is entirely due to what the metal and wood container interacts with: namely, silver (or in rare cases, Moonsilver or Rotsilver).    As only werewolves tend to employ these specialized storage devices, and silver of all kinds causes them immense pain at minimum, a werewolf must have thought ahead enough to have the Store on them when it is needed.    Many werewolves know what a Store is, but they don't consider them practical. The logic goes a bit like this: if they're careful, they'll never need it anyways, so why bother?    Of course, this attitude changes when the werewolf survives a silver encounter. The older a wolf gets, the more likely they are to have a Silver Storer.
Raw materials & Components
Wood of any type, but the wood must be harvested from a living source. Sticks twined together will work, for example, only if the sticks are from a living plant.    Cloth of any sort, placed against the wood.    Metal, iron or brass or steel, placed against the cloth.    A final cloth lining.

This is amazing werewolves finding a way to take care of a silver problem. It makes perfect sense that they would try to find a way to deal with silver
