Dazuvellan Glass Payload

“The rules of fair play do not apply in love and war.”
— Poet John Lyly ("All's Fair in Love and War.")
In the art of war, the nastier the weapon the easier it is to win.   Though never a warmongering kingdom, the Forces of Dazuvell learned this truth early after The Thaw. With kingdoms rebuildings themselves in the rubble of the Epoch of War and the Epoch of Snow, new ones also blossomed in the spaces left behind and jostled for their place in the pecking order. This lead to Dazuvell needing to be merciless in protecting its bounds from those who overreached.   Those who have wronged Dazuvell in the way that these needed to be deployed often complain about its harshness as if to direct blame back at Dazuvell, but the combined blowback on those comments from both Dazuvell and Talnor is often enough to shut them up.

Utility

The Dazuvellan Glass Payload is one of the many projectiles available to be flung from Dazuvellan trebuchets. It can be extremely lethal, shattering on impact, exploding and firing glass shards in all directions. These shards can then impale the soldiers standing nearby the impact site.
Access & Availability
Dazuvell has kept this this technology under wraps, and even refuses to share it with their closest ally, Talnor. They even go out of their way to scour the battlefield after a siege to clean up as much of the glass shards as they can. They also only use it in defense of their cities as they are more devastating on long range and are less useful in laying seige to the enemy.
Complexity
Compared to the trebuchet and the normal projectiles that are launched from them, glass payloads are relatively simple to craft. While dwarven forges located at the heart of the kingdom will melt rock in order to form perfect spheres of stone in moulds, glass payloads are either formed from melted glass poured into similar moulds (this allowed them to be crafted in any foundry) or mined from lava flows that cooled so quickly they formed obsidian.   The process of chipping away at the lump of obsidian in order to form it into a sphere leaves large shards of obsidian that can be crafted into more weapons.
